What counts as a character?
Every Unicode character you send, including spaces and punctuation, counted before normalization. Normalization can expand "$42.50" into "forty-two dollars and fifty cents", but you pay for the 6 characters you sent, not the 33 we speak.
How am I charged for a request?
We reserve the cost from your balance when the request starts, and finalize it when the audio is delivered. Failed requests are refunded automatically. Add "include_cost": true to see the exact charge and your remaining balance in every response.
What happens when my balance runs out?
Requests return a clear insufficient_balance error (HTTP 402). Nothing is charged to your card unless you've turned on auto top-up.
How does auto top-up work?
Choose a threshold, a top-up amount and a monthly limit. When your balance drops below the threshold, we charge your saved card for the top-up amount, never exceeding your monthly limit. Turn it off at any time.
Can I get a refund?
Unused purchased credit can be refunded within 30 days of purchase. Just email us. See the Terms for details.
